6 New Food Facts

1) We eat Nutella every day. On bread, crackers, or butter cookies. For breakfast or a snack or dessert. We buy the family size, even! 2) At the store, eggs are not refrigerated. We promptly refrigerate them at home. And the egg yolks are the brightest orange color I have ever seen. 3) Our cheese options at the store are Gouda, Edam, or Emmental. So we have invented brand new forms of pizza and quesadillas, I'm sure. 4) I was wrong to expect a diminished produce selection; the exotic fruits and fresh vegetables here are plentiful. 5) All stores close by 8 PM and are closed on Sundays. How does everyone plan ahead so well? It's actually amazing how we've gotten used to this. 6) Bakery bread...maybe every-other day we pick up a new loaf, trying a new kind every time.

  1. Nutella. Mmmmmm. Do they sell the Rapunzel brand? I think it's German. It might be Swiss... It's super good, if you can find it.

  2. Well, my dear, back in the day, grocery stores in Big Bear closed every night at 6:00 pm! And everything used to shut down for holidays. What a shame we all decided we need 24 hour, 7 day a week access to everything.
